Praying OPD, Week 4; and more...See you tomorrow!:)
Dear Kollao,
This week, I trust we have all been praying for the myriad families of the OPD, especially the families of those who lost their loved ones. Also, I hope we've been remembering the families of the OPD that are represented in our Kollao community -- Kevin and Ines, Bryan and Monica, Tim and Stephanie, Jon and Rachel...did I miss any??? I hope not. If I did...please know we still prayed for them.
Several people in our Kollao community had key roles in ministering to the OPD community, including Bryan Hubbard (who helped plan the amazing memorial service attended by 20,000 at Oracle Arena on Friday), Jon Vanerwagen (who helped organize the helicopter fly-over for the service), and Stephanie Martin (who is organizing the dinner tree for Officer Sakai's family). Please pray for them as well, as they all deal intimately with the aftermath of that tragedy.
In my Bible reading this week, I have been reminded of the amazing promises that God makes to those who trust Him. He pursues, he chooses, he loves, he waits, he blesses, he forgives, he leads, he guides, he provides and he comforts (among many others:). Please pray for those in our community who are facing a "wilderness" experience...to draw near to God, and feel the comfort that only He can provide.
I missed you and your families at the Kollao Game Night last Saturday night, and also on Sunday morning in Kollao. I heard they were both awesome! A special thanks to Pastor Jason Hotchkiss for leading us last weekend...as well as prayer for his family as his father recovers from a car accident.
I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning for part 4 of our REAL LOVE series!
God bless,
Tyler
